Default Ranger in CoF

So i posted this in the farming forum but it didnt get much for replies.. Well im lookin at acutally fighting with H/H. So looking for input.. I have been trying this so far

For heros i have been usin Jora with a Sun and Moon/ Dragon slash build.. a monk hero and a MM hero..thoughts..comments welcome

I'd grab a Ritualist or N/Rt Hero for Splinter Weapon and add [Judge's Insight] or [Heart of Holy Flame] to your bar. The latter is preferable since it requires no speccing to be effective.

Murakai uses powerful spells which if you don't deal with could really make the last boss a pain. You can shut her down with BHA whilst still maintaining the DPS of splinter barrage. Therefore I suggest you try:

[Broad Head Arrow][Distracting Shot][Volley][Splinter Weapon] + whatever you like. It means you can really give her a good spanking.

MM is useless; I made that mistake when first doing the dungeon. The enchanted are the hardest part and they don't leave corpses.

You'll want some sort of anti-melee.

Barrage is bad, there are no large mobs here; volley does the same thing and doesn' twaste your elite. Also the end dungeon boss is a pain with H/H who like to clump. Take BHA and Concussion Shot (BHA doesn't last the whole time) and keep her dazed.

Here is what I used to do CoF in both NM and HM: (And for just general use too)

Me:
[build prof=R/Mo exp=11+1 marks=12+1+1 beast=6+1][distracting shot][barrage][pain inverter][never rampage alone][throw dirt][comfort animal][charm animal][rebirth][/build]

Acolyte Jin:
[build prof=R/D marks=12+1+1 exp=8+1 beast=5+1 earthp=9][favorable winds][ebon dust aura][volley][called shot][distracting shot][comfort animal][charm animal][resurrection signet][/build]

Margrid the Sly:
[build prof=R/Mo marks=12+1+1 exp=10+1 beast=8+1][favorable winds][broad head arrow][volley][distracting shot][disrupting lunge][comfort animal][charm animal][rebirth][/build]

Livia:
NM - [build prof=N/Mo death=12+2+1 soul=10+1 healing=8][animate flesh golem][animate bone horror][animate shambling horror][animate vampiric horror][heal area][blood of the master][vile miasma][rebirth][/build]
HM - [build prof=N/Mo death=12+2+1 soul=11+1 healing=6][jagged bones][animate bone horror][animate bone minions][deathly swarm][vile miasma][blood of the master][heal area][rebirth][/build]

Notes:
1. for henchmen I used 2 monks and 2 rangers.
2. Jin has FW and rez signet turned off - I use her FW manually before a battle and let Margrid do hers automatically as required.
3. Myself, Jin and Margrid use shortbows in NM. In HM, Jin and Margrid use flatbows and I switch as I feel like.
4. Jin is usually quite good at using EDA, but you may want to keep an eye out and force her to use it sometimes.

Disclaimer: I make no claims about the effectiveness of this build relative to other builds, other than "it works for me" Like any build, you should think of it as a starting point for your own variation.

For Murakai BHA is the best choice. There are a fair amount of undead and enchanted weapons down there, so MM (like someone else said) is the worse choice. In addition alot of the nastier Undead are casters, so BHA will help shut them down.

[[ebon vanguard sniper support] sucks-it's only good vs. charr or if most of your party carries it (then you have a high chance someone will get that bonus damage). I wouldn't bring it if you're H/H.
